In the Acupuncture TCM clinic a frequently asked question is - How many Acupuncture treatments will I need?

Many factors influence this. One of the main factors is the nature of the complaint itself. Some conditions are, by their very nature, more severe or serious than others. Usually the more serious the illness the more treatments are required.

The length of time the complaint has been there will also be significant. Generally speaking, more recent disorders are more easily and more rapidly eliminated than those which have been present for, say, a number of years or even decades. Acupuncture TCM treatment, however, can be equally helpful in treating both chronic (there for a long time) and acute (of recent onset) conditions.

Other factors that can influence how many Acupuncture treatments you will need are the frequency of the treatments, the type of TCM treatments administered and the skill and experience of the practitioner. Also the general state of health and well-being of the person seeking treatment can influence the number of treatments required.

What happens to you between the treatment sessions, in your daily work and life, and how well you follow the advice of the TCM practitioner can also influence the speed of recovery.

A professionally trained Acupuncturist using Acupuncture TCM, such as members of the PRTCM, will not tell you in advance that you need a certain number of treatments. They will not be able to assess this until they have conducted a full TCM diagnosis and until they can assess how well you are responding to treatment. No member of the PRTCM will ever ask you to pay for a series of treatments in advance.
