Stress?

Winter is often a time of increased incidence of people presenting with ‘stress’ in the TCM clinic.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO),

'Stress can be defined as a state of worry or mental tension caused by a difficult situation.’

 and

‘Stress is a natural human response that prompts us to address challenges and threats in our lives. Everyone experiences stress to some degree. The way we respond to stress, however, makes a big difference to our overall well-being.’

‘Stress’ is a Western Medical label and not a Chinese medical diagnosis, therefore, as with all ailments, the TCM clinic  Practitioner carries out their own Chinese Medical Diagnosis concerned essentially with the individual rather than diseases or labels. TCM being a holistic medicine treats all areas of the person including the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and psychological as well as offering lifestyle advice.

By its very nature, stress affects everyone in different ways, not affecting any two individuals in the same way.

If you would like to find a TCM Acupuncture Practitioner near you, please find our list of members page on the PRTCM website and contact the practitioner directly to make an appointment. All of our members are highly trained, fully qualified and insured.
