Is Acupuncture Chinese Medicine?

Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture is one modality of TCM, not the whole thing. Like moxibustion or herbs, it forms one tool in the TCM toolkit, like surgery is one part of modern medicine but not the whole thing.

Ancient Chinese Medicine Acupuncture is based on the solid roots of a sophisticated theoretical structure that predates written records. It is authentic and has gradually and consistently developed over not only decades or centuries, but millennia. It has a venerable ancient pedigree and very sound traditions.

This must be distinguished from modern Acupuncture. This is not TCM and not based on the underpinning theory of Chinese Medicine. It is by comparison a very recent development. It is important to distinguish the two as they are very different.

To find a TCM Acupuncturist you can visit our list of members page on the PRTCM website.
