The PRTCM is an Irish based professional body. It aims to ensure Acupuncture and other TCM methods are safely available to the public. It works to both regulate and represent practitioners of TCM in Ireland and the UK.

The PRTCM co-operates with government bodies to promote and regulate the profession. Currently Acupuncture and TCM are self-regulated medical options. Since 2007 the PRTCM has cooperated with other professional bodies in the Acupuncture TCM field. It was part of a steering group for Acupuncture and TCM, under the auspices of the Department of Health and Children with whom it has regular communication.
The PRTCM website provides members of the public with the information they require to select a fully qualified practitioner of TCM. This includes Acupuncture TCM and other TCM treatment options including Chinese Herbal Medicine and Medical Qigong.
It makes available to the public a regularly updated online ‘directory of practitioners’. This is a list of all of its full practising members, including their contact details and Clinic addresses. All our full members are fully trained, fully qualified and fully insured practitioners of TCM.
Founded in 1983, the PRTCM has been actively promoting and regulating Acupuncture and TCM since then.
