Thomas J. Shanahan is a full member of the PRTCM and is recognised by VHI, Laya Healthcare and other main Health Insurance providers in Ireland for the provision of Acupuncture treatments.

He established the Irish College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ICTCM) in Dublin in 1983 and is the Director of the College, and a teacher, Clinical Director and Supervisor.

Tom studied Acupuncture TCM, Chinese Herbal Medicine and Advanced specialist Medical Qigong in various parts of Europe and China (including London, Nanjing, Beijing and Guangzhou) and is qualified in all three main fields of Traditional Chinese Medical treatment, with qualifications equivalent to, or more advanced than those awarded by the ICTCM (as shown below).

He is the founder and a Council Member of the PRTCM.
